Meet the Maker – Kate Eddy

Meet Kate- owner of herindigo from the Snowy Mountains NSW.

My passion is working with beautiful handwoven and handprinted fabrics to create my handmade wares.

I lived in Malaysia when I was a young girl where I was introduced to batik fabrics. I think that is where my love and fascination of handmade textiles grew from.

I live with my lovely hubby David and two cats Rupert & Sylvie. Our future dream is to find a beautiful farm where we can build our dream country home, run organic cattle fed on native grasslands and grow organic saffron.

Kate has an eclectic and unique style which covers the classic blue and white coastal style look (indigo is her signature look) to beautiful florals to exotic Persian influences.

Unique, handmade slow fashion and homewares is what I love.

Kate loves colour and interior design. She spends hours looking at beautiful pictures of interiors which inspires her work.

I am always rethinking how to decorate my own home, and images from across the globe of far away exotic places builds my passion to create beautiful spaces.

My business is constantly evolving and I’m always looking to add new and interesting products to my range.

I am inspired by the amazing artisans that hand weave and hand print the wonderful fabrics I use. So much skill and generational knowledge has been put into these fabrics. The history of block printing and the textile industry in general, in India inspires me to create my beautiful creations.
